Introducing two new PANORAMA thematic communities

We are very pleased to announce the launch of two new thematic communities - one focused on Nature-Culture and one on Sustainable Urban Development and Resilience, which have been in the works for some time.

We are also pleased to invite you to an exciting event in December. The community of practice requires a collective and innovative approach and to bring together the voices of our Solutions providers for knowledge- and information-sharing. Save the date to attend the European Green Deal and Nature-based Solutions event on December 14.

Integrated Heritage Protection and Management

The Nature-Culture Thematic Community highlights the importance of integrated heritage protection and management for sustainable development, by looking at inspiring approaches. Coordinated jointly by IUCN, ICCROM, and ICOMOS, it aims to form a global community of practice in places valued for their cultural and natural significance, across indigenous peoples’ territories, rural and coastal landscapes, seascapes, and urban landscapes.

Sustainable Urban Development and Resilience

Through the new Urban Thematic Community, the World Bank, IUCN, and their partners intend to showcase pragmatic solutions to pressing urban challenges, drawing on research and project experience from across the world. Their aim is to inform and inspire action to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of cities, where the future of humanity is said to lie.

Save the Date

Join the EU German Presidency Event on the European Green Deal and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) at 14.00 CET on 14 December, hosted together with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The event’s objectives are to create continued momentum towards NbS for people, biodiversity and climate and to demonstrate the potential of NbS to address our global challenges. The event will tackle both the internal and external dimensions of the Green Deal, focusing on action by the EU and its Member States, but also looking beyond, into the global agenda.
The virtual dialogue will feature high-level representatives from governments, international organisations, civil society and the finance sector and will be organised into two sessions.

PANORAMA – Solutions for a Healthy Planet is a partnership initiative to document and promote examples of inspiring, replicable solutions across a range of conservation and sustainable development topics, enabling cross-sectoral learning and inspiration. PANORAMA allows practitioners to share and reflect on their experiences, increase recognition for successful work, and to learn with their peers how similar challenges have been addressed around the globe.
