As we celebrate World Wildlife Day, it is important to reflect on the need for nature conservation in order to protect the many wild species that make up our diverse planet. “Sustaining all life on Earth” is the theme of this year’s World Wildlife Day, encompassing all wild animal, plant, and fungal species as a component of biodiversity. Beneficial to humans in a variety of ways, wildlife makes up the global ecosystems that are necessary for all life on Earth. In this super year for biodiversity, the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2020 in Marseille, France, will show why conservation works for wildlife. |
