SAGE: A brand new tool for governance and equity assessment

Results from the first round of SAGE piloting in Cambodia, Cameroon, Greece, Northern Ireland, the Philippines, Tanzania, Viet Nam and Zambia, and plans for sites in Peru and Colombia, were reviewed by partners and collaborators in January, at the University of East Anglia, UK.

New report identifies potential World Heritage sites in Central Asia

The Cold Winter Deserts of Central Asia are among six globally significant biodiversity sites that could potentially qualify for World Heritage status, according to a new IUCN report focusing on the region comprising Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

UK film launch promotes movement to protect 30% of the ocean by 2030

15 january, London. A new film was released advocating for at least 30% of the global ocean to be protected by 2030, under the campaign #30by30. The film was created by DEFRA, UK in parnership with IUCN WCPA, and narrated by Sting (2:58).
