Day five of the Congress looked at nature’s impact across our societies, beginning with a High-Level Dialogue on how conservation can mitigate the pressures that drive or result from conflict. A second High-Level Dialogue explored how to put nature-based solutions at the top of the agenda at upcoming international meetings, while Forum sessions focused on increasing private sector investment in nature.

Congress hosts, the Government of France, announced a national biodiversity strategy, and IUCN published research on the threats to wild relatives of some of the world’s most important crops. The Forum Closing summarised the week’s deliberations around the Congress themes.

Today, the Members’ Assembly begins, with debate on Motions including new and urgent ones. Among events not to be missed is a discussion on the impacts biodiversity loss and climate change have on public health.
