ONE NATURE, ONE FUTURE

Day two of the IUCN Congress began with the opening of the Forum, which will provide a hub for public debate over the next four days. Panellists at the High-Level Dialogue on nature-based recovery called for increased investments in nature, crucial to overcome the impacts of the pandemic. Meanwhile, the rights and roles of indigenous peoples and local communities in nature conservation were centre stage at the Rights and Governance opening plenary. The IUCN Red List update provided cautious hope for the ocean, with tuna species recovering thanks to sustainable fisheries.
