ONE NATURE, ONE FUTURE

The IUCN World Conservation Congress opened yesterday in Marseille, France, with an address by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, as well as online. The first day of the IUCN Congress saw a diversity of groups gather on the first day to raise their voices and drive action for nature - at the Indigenous Peoples’ Summit, the Global Youth Summit, the CEO Summit and the Local Action Summit. Over the next seven days, the IUCN Congress will help shape global conservation and sustainable development agendas for years to come, with a focus on three key areas: biodiversity, nature-based recovery and climate change.

The IUCN World Conservation Congress – the world’s largest and most inclusive environmental decision-making forum – opened in Marseille, France, with an address by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

Global Youth Summit: Looking to the Future

At the Summit, youth leaders united to press for action to tackle the interlinked climate and biodiversity crises, calling for bold decisions at the Congress and other upcoming international meetings.
