Dear colleagues, This past year has been a challenging one for all of us personally and professionally. Businesses – large and small – have suffered but many have also been on the frontline. They have had to adapt, and many of the ones we interact with have stepped up to help local communities while continuing to innovate and strive towards a sustainable future. From accelerating commitments from the top combined with actions on the ground to preserve nature for the benefit of people to investing at scale in nature-based solutions and changes to the underlying financial reward system, businesses, together with other economic actors, realise that the post-pandemic recovery is a unique opportunity for a reset. Increasingly a stronger collaboration between all actors of society is needed, as noted in many of the examples in this end-of-year edition of Building Bridges. IUCN is proud to collaborate with those partners that are committed to achieving a greener, more inclusive, low-carbon future and deliver nature positive results. In 2021, we hope you will continue to support us and participate in the preparation of the IUCN World Conservation Congress, now scheduled for 3-11 September in Marseille, to advance our shared vision and goals. Best wishes and stay safe - the BBP team |
