Dear ,

Day four of the Congress brought exciting news, announcing Panama as the host of the 2027 IUCN World Protected and Conserved Areas Congress, the premier global forum for setting the agenda for protected and conserved areas. IUCN Changemakers, a new generation of leaders presented their visions for conservation challenges. In the afternoon, IUCN and Mongolia announced strengthening collaboration as the country takes over UNCCD COP17 Presidency.

The day also celebrated the success of the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and the Red List of Ecosystems Partnerships, uniting leading institutions and experts to guide action, inform policy, and inspire commitment to halting biodiversity loss.

The IUCN Green List Awards Ceremony honoured 24 new Listings from 13 countries, recognising excellence, equity, and innovation in protected areas worldwide. Adding to the day’s inspiration, California and Massachusetts announced their intention to join IUCN. The Forum drew to a close after delivering around 300 sessions, and the focus now shifts to the Members Assembly and concrete decisions and commitments.
