2025 has been declared the year of the Glaciers by the United Nations, and as part of it, the International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, to be held in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan, from May 29 – June 1st, will serve as a platform to advance global efforts in climate adaptation and resilience, with a specific focus on addressing glacial melting, to foster greater awareness and knowledge exchange, enhance technical capacities, and promote the dissemination of best practices. The conference will emphasize climate-responsive and transformative solutions, adopting an integrated and transboundary approach to mitigate the adverse impacts of glacial melting on water security, food security, and community resilience. |
