Mapping equitable, effective paths to achieving 30x30

Cerbère-Banyuls National Reserve is located on the Catalan coast of Southern France in Languedoc-Roussillon in the Midi-Pyrénées. It’s a small area, constituting 6.5 km2 of coastal waters, and covering just 650 hectares overall. It was founded in 1974 as the first Natural Marine Reserve in France as a result of local concern for the area regarding pollution and degradation from tourism and fishing. Its mission was to protect endangered species, to help research, and to inform the public about the importance of the environment and sensitively promote the local economy.
