A training session on risk management for wetlands was organised in October in Tirana, Albania, for local civil society representatives and natural area managers. Participants learned to identify different types of wetlands and various ways to better manage them, as well as the threats they face throughout the Mediterranean Basin, which include pollution, artificialisation and other direct anthropogenic pressures, and invasive species. Bosnia and Herzegovina is the first and currently, the only country in the region to have acquired the FSC standard, making it easier for national companies to get certified and access the international markets.
